Responsibilities
The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The EDT provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients and performs approved procedures per policy. The EDT assists patients with activities of daily living and assists with the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications
To be considered, you must:
- Be 18 years of age prior to start date
- Have the ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Have basic computer knowledge
- Have decision making and problem solving skills, spoken and written communication skills, and team building skills
- Have the ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner
- Have a minimum of a Wisconsin EMT-Basic license (effective July 1, 2014)
- Have current BLS certification
Preferred qualifications include one year of experience as EMT, one year acute care hospital experience, and a high school graduate or equivalent.
Pay
Compensation range is $20.46-$28.25 hour.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with 36 hours per pay period, working a 12 hour mid-day/night rotation (11am/7pm) and every 3rd weekend, with 2 holidays per year.
