Emergency Department RN (Mid-Shift 12P-12A)

About the role

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA seeks to hire an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) on a Full Time basis. The position is under the supervision of the Unit Director and the Chief Nursing Officer.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients.
• Effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria for newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and the elderly population.

Requirements

• Graduate of a state-approved RN school of nursing.
• Previous experience preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of the nursing process and principles.
• Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of patient care standards and protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
