Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician - Paramus, NJ

VEG ER for Pets · Paramus, NJ · 1 mo ago
On-siteHealthcare$25–$44/hrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually the posting includes "ABOUT VEG" (company description) and "THE JOB" (role description). The instructions: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading. So we need to decide which sections to include based on content. We have: - About VEG (company overview) maybe "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is typical heading for role description. But we have "THE JOB" which describes role. Could map to "About the role". Also we have "WHAT YOU'LL DO" (Responsibilities). "WHAT YOU NEED" (Requirements/Qualifications). "WHO YOU ARE" (Skills? maybe personal attributes). "HOW WE INVEST IN YOU" (Benefits, Pay, etc). Also we have compensation range: Competitive compensation ($25/hr-$44/hr). That's Pay. Also benefits: health and wellness, 401K match, equity, travel stipend, student loan repayment, parental leave, flexible schedules, referral program, scrubs, swag, food. So we can have Benefits section. We also have Schedule? Not explicit schedule details besides "Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis". That's schedule info. Could put under Schedule section. We need to avoid boilerplate like DEI? The DEI section is present; but instructions: remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. DEI is not exactly that; but it's a diversity statement. Might be considered boilerplate? The instruction says remove EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. DEI is similar to equal opportunity; but it's a statement about diversity. Might be considered boilerplate; safer to omit. Also "ABOUT VEG" is company description; could be included as "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is about the job, not company. But we could include a section "About VEG" maybe not in list of allowed headings? The allowed headings list includes About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. It says use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings, but suggests those as examples. Probably we should stick to those headings. So we need to map content to those headings. Thus: - About the role: could include the description from "THE JOB" plus maybe company overview? But "About the role" should describe the role. We'll put the role description there. - Responsibilities: from "WHAT YOU'LL DO". - Requirements: from "WHAT YOU NEED" (including education, credential, experience, skills, physical demands, availability). - Qualifications: maybe separate? Could combine with Requirements. But we could have both Requirements and Qualifications if we have distinct content. The posting includes "WHAT YOU NEED" which includes both requirements and qualifications. Could split: Requirements (education, credential, experience) and Qualifications (skills, attributes). But we also have "WHO YOU ARE" which is personal attributes; could go under Skills or Qualifications. Let's decide: We'll have: - About the role: role overview (THE JOB). - Responsibilities: WHAT YOU'LL DO. - Requirements: education, credential, experience, physical demands, availability (the concrete must-haves). - Qualifications: preferred qualifications (VTS, specialty experience, etc.) plus maybe "Basic computer skills..." etc. But those are also requirements. Hmm. Alternatively, we could have: - Requirements: mandatory items. - Skills: desired skills/competencies (communication, calm under pressure, fine motor skills, etc.) - Benefits: HOW WE INVEST IN YOU. - Pay: compensation range. - Schedule: availability to work nights, weekends, holidays. We need to avoid filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We must preserve all substantive info; not invent. Let's extract details. About VEG paragraph: we could include in About the role? Might be considered company overview, not role. But we could still include as part of About the role? The instruction: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it)". It doesn't forbid including company description. Could include under About the role heading? Might be odd but acceptable. Alternatively we could add a separate section "About VEG" but not in allowed list; risk of being considered filler? Probably better to include company description under About the role heading as context. Let's craft:

About the role

At VEG we find a way to say yes to the career you want in veterinary emergency medicine. This means transforming how ER works, from our open-concept hospitals, where you can handle emergency cases of every kind (even exotics!) to our immersive, customer-focused experience, which helps us give people and their pets the care they deserve. This also means saying yes to creating the greatest experience possible for our VEGgies. Yes to working in an environment where you can find your place and feel valued for the amazing work you do. Yes to having unparalleled opportunities for learning and mentorship so you can grow where you want to go in your career. And yes to making an impact here in ways you never thought possible. VEG is a 2025 and 2026 certified Great Place to Work®.

As an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician, you're part of a team that thrives on the front lines of emergency veterinary care where every second counts. You'll handle a wide range of cases, from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with our doctors and team in delivering gold standard, emotionally intelligent care. You'll jump into triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, all while being a steady, compassionate presence for pet parents in their most stressful moments. This role is for someone who wants to do the work they were trained to do (and more), continue growing their skills, and help people and their pets when they need it most.

That seems good. Responsibilities: list from WHAT YOU'LL DO. We'll make
  • items. Responsibilities text: - Treat every patient and person like they matter—because they do! You keep people and pets together and stay by their side through tests, treatments, and everything in between - Jump into action, delivering nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in the most critical moments, from triage to discharge - Bring the meds, the monitoring, and the mastery—from IVs and CRIs to blood transfusions and beyond - Communicate like a teammate and think like a leader, helping shape plans and keep care flowing - Be ready to perform CPR like the trained RECOVER rockstar you are (not only do we offer training, we have the highest number of RECOVER CPR professionals and instructors in the industry!) - All the techy stuff—from diagnostics and imaging to sample collection and placing tubes - Anesthesia, even for our most fragile patients? You've got it. - Use all the advanced techniques in your toolkit: central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and more We'll output as list. Requirements: from WHAT YOU NEED mandatory items: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred - Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation - 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred - Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping - Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you - Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment - Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance - Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors. - Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs - Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types We could separate some into Skills, but we have Skills section maybe for personal attributes. Qualifications: maybe include VTS as plus, etc. But we already included VTS as plus in Requirements. Could treat as Qualifications. But we have "WHO YOU ARE" which includes Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, humility, sense of ownership, curious. Those are more like Skills/attributes. Thus we can have: - Requirements: mandatory (education, credential, experience, physical, availability, environment, teamwork) - Skills: communication, calm under pressure, fine motor skills, ability to lift, etc. But many overlap. Better to follow typical pattern: Requirements (education, credential, experience), Qualifications (preferred), Skills (personal attributes). Let's parse. From WHAT YOU NEED: Mandatory: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required. - 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role. - Basic computer skills and comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping. - Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you. - Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment. - Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance. - Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors. - Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs. - Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types. Preferred/plus: - Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred. - Experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred. - VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation. Thus we can have Requirements (mandatory) and Qualifications (preferred). Skills could be personal attributes from WHO YOU ARE. Now Benefits: from HOW WE INVEST IN YOU. List: - Competitive compensation ($25/hr-$44/hr), including base and 401K match - Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one, including QPR training and access to free therapy or counseling - Based on your role, you may be eligible for equity after one year of full time, active employment with VEG, so you can share in our growth and success - A BIG focus on learning and growth, from VEG-created clinical and leadership programs to unlimited ER CE + travel stipend (no really!).
