Veterinary Emergency Coordinator
About the role
Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in West Springfield, MA is hiring a Veterinary Emergency Coordinator to support our Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key connection point between clients, referring veterinarians, doctors, technicians, and hospital teams while helping ensure a smooth and compassionate experience for patients and their families.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Emergency Department.
- Serve as a liaison between VESH, referring veterinarians, and emergency clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, follow-up care, discharge timing, and general inquiries.
- Carefully coordinate referral communications, medical record collection, test results, and patient history documentation.
- Prepare cost estimates, admission paperwork, and discharge paperwork.
- Enter laboratory results into EzyVet and route patient updates to appropriate teams.
- Maintain accurate schedules and ensure appointments align with department workflow.
- Aid in department projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, technicians, client care, and leadership to support excellent patient care.
Requirements
- Experience in veterinary medicine required; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
- Strong client service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- A positive, collaborative, and professional approach with both clients and team members.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team-focused culture.
- Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
