Veterinary Emergency Coordinator

About the role

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in West Springfield, MA is hiring a Veterinary Emergency Coordinator to support our Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key connection point between clients, referring veterinarians, doctors, technicians, and hospital teams while helping ensure a smooth and compassionate experience for patients and their families.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Emergency Department.
  • Serve as a liaison between VESH, referring veterinarians, and emergency clients.
  • Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, follow-up care, discharge timing, and general inquiries.
  • Carefully coordinate referral communications, medical record collection, test results, and patient history documentation.
  • Prepare cost estimates, admission paperwork, and discharge paperwork.
  • Enter laboratory results into EzyVet and route patient updates to appropriate teams.
  • Maintain accurate schedules and ensure appointments align with department workflow.
  • Aid in department projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Collaborate effectively with doctors, technicians, client care, and leadership to support excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • Experience in veterinary medicine required; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
  • Strong client service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • A positive, collaborative, and professional approach with both clients and team members.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team-focused culture.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Passion for patient care and supporting an exceptional client experience.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
