The EA Case Manager processes Emergency Assistance applications for families facing homelessness, impending homelessness, or energy crises. This role ensures timely eligibility determinations and benefit issuance while guiding families through the application process and connecting them with additional stabilization resources.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process EA applications for families experiencing housing instability or energy emergencies.
  • Conduct eligibility assessments and verify required documentation in accordance with W-2 and DCF policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate benefit issuance to support families in crisis.
  • Guide families through the EA application process, providing clear communication and compassionate support.
  • Connect participants with additional stabilization resources such as housing assistance, utility support, food programs, and employment services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with program standards.
  • Collaborate with EA Case Manager Lead and other program staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Monitor application outcomes and follow up with families to assess ongoing needs.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and program regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, crisis intervention, or public assistance programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with families in crisis and diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience with Emergency Assistance or W-2 programs.
  • Familiarity with CARES and WWP systems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) a plus.
