EmERge - Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship Training Program

About the role

The BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital offers an Emergency Veterinarian training program called EmERge. This program is designed to help veterinary school graduates gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in emergency veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Gain foundational emergency medicine skills through 4 weeks of bootcamp (virtual and in-person).
• Obtain exposure to various specialties during 2 weeks of specialty rotations.
• Apply training in a real-world setting during 8 weeks of ER shifts under the mentorship of experienced clinicians.
• Transition to managing more complex cases with increased responsibility during Phase 2.
• Work full shifts in the ER during Phase 3, developing critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Handle a variety of emergency cases during Phase 3 to broaden expertise and build confidence.
• Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases during Phase 3.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care.
• Receive ongoing mentorship and participation in weekly didactics.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited veterinary school.
• An individual with a sincere interest in becoming an Emergency Veterinarian.
• A current Veterinarian looking for a career change.

Qualifications

• Must have completed veterinary school.
• Desire to work in emergency veterinary medicine.
• Willingness to commit to a two-year program.

Pay

• Phase 1 (Weeks 1-14): $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually).
• Phase 2 (Weeks 15-32): $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually).
• Phase 3 (Weeks 33-52): Full salary plus production where applicable.

Schedule

The program is full-time and spans two years, including the initial year of training.
