Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift - 1069

Our 2nd shift schedule is Monday-Thursday, 3pm-1am. The shift incentive includes a 10% -15% premium, paid lunch, and 3 day weekends. Eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after 3 years.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star, you can expect varied daily tasks including replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and performing inspections on sophisticated civilian aircraft. Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems
• Removal and installation of panels and components
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve aircraft system/component issues
• De-fueling aircraft
• Engine removal/installations
• Operate ground support equipment
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling
• Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
• Communicate effectively (speak, write, read) in English
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory)

Experience

• AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. Limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspects; requires close supervision.
• AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 2-4 years of experience in aviation maintenance; experience working on corporate aircraft preferred but not essential. Considerable knowledge of general maintenance; requires general supervision on routine tasks.
• AMT III: Airframe license required; Powerplant license highly preferred. 4-6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance; experience on corporate aircraft highly preferred. Full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments.
• AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license required. 6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance with extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject matter expert in all areas of the job.

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50 lbs
• Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting
• Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands
• Climb ladders and stairs; work in small, restricted areas
• Stand for long periods

Mental Requirements

• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines
• Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation
• Work with others in a professional manner

Supervision

Work under the supervision of an assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.

Working Conditions

• Work performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations (very cold to very hot)
• Work outside during aircraft runs
• Varied positions in and around the aircraft

Equipment Used

• Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic
• Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
• Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices
• Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment
