The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is a 320-room luxury hotel located in the Viking Lakes mixed-use development, near downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. The hotel offers extensive meeting and event spaces, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom and a 4,410-square-foot event center.
- Master drink recipes according to brand standards.
- Maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine service.
- Supports new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the outlet to support Omni's Covid-19 related sanitation protocols.
- Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender’s manual.
- Jiggers pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros.
- Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
- Attend to all needs of the guest during their visit to the restaurant.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
- Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
- Alert the manager immediately if a member or guest has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
- Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant/bar area.
- Send orders using MICROS system, present accurate check to guest and process payment.
- Complete all opening and closing side work.
- Ensure consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
- Monitor inventory, place, and receive warehouse orders daily and ensure proper par levels of all products.
- Notify managers immediately if there are discrepancies.
- Attend department meetings and other required company trainings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- At a minimum of 18 years old.
- Two years bartending experience.
- Previous Bartending and guest service experience required, upscale hotel or resort experience is strongly preferred.
- Must have and maintain current TIPS, ServSafe or equivalent alcohol training.
- MICROS Experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be teamwork-oriented, and exhibit a positive attitude.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Working Environment: Interior of restaurant kitchen and designated bar area, with occasional travel around the property as needed.
- Exposure to a kitchen environment with high temperatures.
- Exterior of Hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
- Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.

Pay
Salary for this position starts at (based on experience): $15.82/hour.
