Temporary full-time position located in Mossville, IL (onsite, Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm) with an estimated duration of 12 months.

About the Role

The hauling application team is responsible for the overall onboard solution (vehicle level) for autonomous haulage machines. This position works under the direction of the team’s system integration lead, contributing to onboard system designs, evaluating potential solutions, and resolving system-level issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the hauling team, with process partners, and with subject-matter experts to identify and evaluate potential solutions for new requirements or issues.
  • Analyze problems, assess benefits and risks of proposed changes, and document the selected design.
  • Break down solutions into actionable delivery elements and coordinate hardware availability with component, development, and validation teams.
  • Design electronic and network architecture for the autonomy tech stack used across all hauling autonomy products.
  • Document designs and coordinate delivery with partner teams.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues.
  • Support validation teams in creating test plans and triaging issues during implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software engineering, robotics, or autonomous systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with robotic hardware, electronic systems, and system integration.
  • 2+ years of experience in requirements decomposition, solution design, and engineering tradeoff analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux development environments and programming in C++ and/or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Work Environment

This role is primarily performed in an office environment, with some tasks in laboratory or validation settings. Occasional travel to proving grounds or customer sites may be required.

Pay

Hourly rate: $45.00–$50.00.
