About the role

The Opportunity: As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We’re looking for an embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients’ most important mission-forward challenges. As an embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you’ll write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results. You’ll strengthen your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You’ll partner with team leadership to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you’re creating is secure. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded or real-time systems using C or C++
  • Write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results
  • Participate in Agile workflows such as daily scrums, Jira tracking, or iterative development
  • Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information to leadership
  • Resolve workflow problems through automation optimization
  • Work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
  • Participate in troubleshooting and correcting operational issues
  • Partner with cybersecurity specialists to ensure software security

Requirements

  • Experience developing embedded or real-time systems using C or C++
  • Experience with scripting for automation, testing, or tooling
  • Experience working with embedded hardware, including integration with FPGAs, microcontrollers, or custom electronics
  • Experience with real-time constraints, deterministic execution, and hardware-software interfacing
  • Experience with testing or prototyping using tools such as MATLAB or LabVIEW
  • Ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information to leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS, or a STEM field
  • Top Secret clearance

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
