Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate embedded control software for industrial digital power electronics systems.
- Architect and implement firmware for real-time control on MCUs, DSPs, or FPGAs using C/C++ or similar low-level languages.
- Apply control algorithms for voltage, current, power, and thermal regulation in digitally controlled power converters.
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for the digital control of industrial power electronics, including systems using SCRs and IGBTs to generate regulated DC and AC output power.
- Implement firmware-level protection, monitoring, and diagnostic features to support industrial power reliability requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to documentation, coding standards, and version control practices.
- Support product validation, manufacturing transitions, and field troubleshooting as needed.
- Debug complex embedded systems in lab environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and product teams to define software requirements and interface specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Controls Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in embedded controls, embedded software, or real-time systems.
- Strong skills in C/C++, RTOS environments, and digital control of industrial power converters.
- Experience using microcontrollers or DSPs and working directly with hardware such as ADCs, PWMs, timers, and interrupts.
- Understanding of power electronics and control theory.
- Comfortable using standard lab tools.
- Experience with embedded web servers and web interface development is a plus.
Qualifications
- Comfortable debugging complex embedded systems in lab environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and product teams to define software requirements and interface specifications.
- Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.
