About the role

Elevate USA provides a relationship-based youth development program designed to support students through five core components:

  • Accredited Classes – Students participate in classes during the school day that focus on life skills, character development, leadership, and personal growth.
  • Transformational Mentoring – Students build meaningful relationships with Teacher-Mentors who provide consistent support, encouragement, and guidance throughout the school year.
  • Adventure Activities – Students participate in experiential learning opportunities that expose them to new environments, build confidence, and encourage teamwork and personal development.
  • College and Career Readiness – Students explore post-secondary pathways through career awareness activities, workforce readiness experiences, college exploration, FAFSA support, scholarship assistance, and goal-setting opportunities.
  • Family Engagement – Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate in events, activities, and communications that strengthen the connection between students, families, schools, and the program.

Responsibilities

AmeriCorps members will serve as Teacher-Mentor Assistants supporting classroom instruction, mentoring, and after-school programming to help youth build academic, social, and career readiness skills. They will assist with tutoring, family engagement activities, community service projects, college and career exploration, and experiential learning opportunities. Members will build positive relationships with students and families, help implement Elevate’s accredited curriculum, and serve as role models who support student growth and leadership development.
