Elementary Visual Arts Teacher - Bilingual Required

Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State certificate with an endorsement in assigned teaching area(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; Master’s preferred
  • Advanced level proficiency in Spanish language on ACTFL Written and Oral assessments
  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English
  • Willingness to participate in staff development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives
  • Successful teaching experience in middle and/or high school is preferred
  • Willingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional program
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning
  • Advanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning and instructional tool
  • Willingness and desire to collaborate with assigned PLC
  • Proven ability to provide an instructional program for students geared to meet their individual needs at their instructional level
  • Willingness to communicate with parents
  • Willingness to work closely with instructional committees to research, plan, and implement innovative ways to improve student learning

Responsibilities

  • Infuses contextual learning opportunities into subject area
  • Designs learning experiences and assessments that allow students to demonstrate applied skills
  • Quickly learns and infuses emerging technologies into teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Works as an enthusiastic part of a learning-centered environment believing that each student can learn
  • Uses the PLC process to improve instruction, learning, and assessment
  • Maintains effective, positive classroom management
  • Actively engages students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activities
  • Works in a flexible and cooperative manner
  • Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
  • Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location and the Comprehensive Professional Agreement to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements
  • Supervision of students
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay

Salary range: $66,175 - $124,733 (includes Base & TRI enrichment; based on FTE, degree, credits, and experience). Additional compensation may apply for TRI professional learning, extended year days, extra appendix E supplemental days, and professional development reimbursement.
