About the role

Teaches appropriate grade level standards based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development to diverse elementary students, following District Literacy Program and Everyday Math or other school/District approved curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
  • Maintains discipline and monitors student behavior.
  • Evaluates student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and instructional materials.
  • Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
  • Administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
  • Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems.
  • Participates in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • A Master's Degree is required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
  • Has a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English for ELA-S positions.
  • Must be willing to take the Spanish language proficiency (SLP) exam, proctored by Berlitz Testing, or the Praxis II - Spanish: World Language 5195 exam with a score of 163 or higher.

  • Effective communication skills with parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators.

Pay

The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary.
