Our Mission: The Charter School for Applied Technologies prepares students to attain family-sustaining careers by integrating career exploration and a lifelong learning culture. CSAT opened in 2001 as a 700-student school serving grades K-6. Today, it is a campus of three buildings (Elementary, Middle, and High Schools) hosting approximately 2,300 students from 19 school districts across Western New York.

About the role

The CSAT teacher is responsible for communicating knowledge to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner using a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources. The teacher works as a team member, sharing planning, professional development, curriculum design, and teaching responsibilities. Teachers administer student assessments, communicate with parents about student progress, and plan further instruction. They reflect on their practice, act as a coach for team members, and integrate technology into teaching and professional activities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement school and district policies and procedures, and CSAT school performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the team on curriculum and student needs, and work toward ongoing communication with parents.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, integrating technology into the instructional program.
  • Act as a coach/mentor to other teachers on the team in areas of personal expertise.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate student needs, establishing student-directed classrooms.
  • Develop and use rubrics for instruction and assessment.
  • Use technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication, and learn new applications.
  • Create and manage a responsive learning environment that enables students to feel safe and develop to their full potential.
  • Write, implement, and evaluate your own professional development plans.
  • Develop family-school relationships that foster academic and social development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with completed student teaching experiences.
  • At least two years of classroom experience with a satisfactory rating.
  • Three positive recommendations from professional individuals.
  • Strong background in classroom instruction and pedagogical skills.
  • Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model.
  • Proof of certification required.

Pay

Competitive salary range: $43,000 – $55,000.

Schedule

Full-time, 10-month position (school year 2026-27). Permanent appointment status.
