Position Summary

St. Egbert Catholic School is seeking an elementary teacher. This person would be a passionate and knowledgeable educator with a strong foundation in elementary content and pedagogy. Elementary teachers are responsible for the instruction of all core subjects. The ideal candidate will support the school's mission statement by fostering a love of learning and developing confident, critical-thinking students through engaging and rigorous instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute lessons based on the Diocese of Raleigh curriculum for appropriate grade-level.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and ensure all students are appropriately challenged and supported.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
  • Integrate technology and hands-on activities into lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff.
  • Accept the mission of the school as articulated at the school level.
  • Support the educational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and administration about student progress and classroom expectations.
  • Serve as a missionary disciple and contribute to a faith-filled, positive school culture that values academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community building.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidate should possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Candidate should hold a NC teaching license in Elementary Education, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
  • Candidate should have at least two or more years experience teaching in an elementary school setting.
  • Familiarity with current best practices in instruction, including standards-based learning and assessment.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred.

Position Start Date: August 2026

Schedule: 40 hours per week
