ELEMENTARY TEACHER – Long Term Substitute

Temporary appointment for the 2026-2027 school year, 1.0 FTE. Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging educational experience for students in grades K-6.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love for learning.
• Use differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed.
• Guide students in mastering essential skills outlined in the NYS standards and district curriculum.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students, collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents, and create a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and cooperation.
• Assess student progress, provide timely feedback and remediation, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

Requirements

• NYS Certification in Childhood Education 1-6 or Pre K–6.
