1.0 FTE Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher position in accordance with the negotiated agreement.
Requirements
- NYS Certification in Childhood Education Grades 1-6
- Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards
- Strong understanding of foundational literacy and mathematics skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to use student data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, families, and administrators
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and contributing positively to the school community
- Experience using technology as an instructional tool, including Google Apps for Education
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to NYS Learning Standards
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and a love of learning
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' various developmentally appropriate needs
- Maintain effective classroom management and establish clear routines and expectations
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Participate in grade-level, school, and district professional development opportunities
- Foster an inclusive, hands-on, and welcoming environment that values diversity and equity
