About the role
The STEP Program provides a highly structured, supportive setting for students who are experiencing significant behavioral challenges that interfere with learning. The program is designed to help students build the social, emotional, and behavioral skills needed to be successful in school, while maintaining a safe and caring environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Maintain a safe and caring environment for all students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
Requirements
- Current teaching certification or equivalent experience
- Experience working with students who have behavioral challenges
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage behavior and maintain classroom order
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for supporting students with behavioral challenges
