Job Summary

The Elementary Teacher Assistant - Special Education (IR) position at Wilshire Elementary is responsible for providing instructional support to students with special educational needs. This role involves assisting teachers in delivering specialized instruction, managing classroom activities, and supporting students' social and emotional development.

About the Role

This position supports the educational team in creating an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students. The Teacher Assistant works closely with special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and assist with the implementation of evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in delivering specialized instruction to students with special educational needs.
• Assists in the organization and management of classroom activities to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Works collaboratively with special education teachers to implement IEPs and other educational plans.
• Supports students' social and emotional development through various activities and interventions.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation as required by the school district.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Pay

Schedule
