About the role
The Elementary Teacher Assistant-Special Education (ECSE) will support a special education teacher in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students with daily living skills and behavior management
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans
- Provide assistance with classroom activities and materials
- Monitor student progress and report on their academic and social development
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher Assistant
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using assistive technology
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
