About the role
Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational activities and programs in accordance with IEP goals, ensuring educational activities and programs are functional and age appropriate to promote achievement of each student’s IEP goals.
- Plan daily and weekly schedules for each student.
- Collect and analyze IEP goal data and evaluate any changes to IEP goals needed.
- Prepare assessments and present levels of performance for IEP meetings and participate in development of appropriate IEP goals for students.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate classroom lead teacher aide and education specialists.
- Maintain current classroom information book, student program books, lesson plans, student’s files, and emergency packets.
- Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students' educational progress, programs, and activities.
- Model appropriate behavior to students and staff (manner of speech, appropriate dress, etc.); treat students with dignity and respect.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois teaching license.
- Valid LBS 1 certification (or meet all requirements for short term emergency approval for LBS 1 certification).
- Valid Illinois driver’s license.
- Ability to meet all licensing standards of the Department of Human Services and the Department of Child and Family Services.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a Special Education Classroom Teacher.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and families.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).

$50,000 - $88,000 (commensurate on education and years of teaching experience)
