Devereux is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide services within Neshaminy School District's Elementary Autistic Support Program. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive educational environment focused on helping students with autism achieve academic, social, and behavioral success.

About the Role

This position is part of Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS), which supports schools with early learning, academic interventions, safety practices, and the assessment and treatment of students with complex behaviors, cognitive challenges, and communication needs. DESS emphasizes evidence-based practices for special education populations.

  • Location: Neshaminy School District, Core Creek Elementary
  • Setting: Elementary Autistic Support Classroom
  • Class Size: Up to 8 students per classroom

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment for elementary-aged students with autism.
  • Collaborate with related service providers, school staff, and families to support student growth and achievement.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to promote student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required; Master’s degree in special education preferred.
  • PA Department of Education certification as a teacher preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in an educational setting working with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations.
  • Ability to perform significant and frequent amounts of walking, standing, and lifting of 10 lbs. or more.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop visual media.

Pay

$55,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

  • Full-Time, 10-Month Position: Monday–Friday, 8:20 AM–3:35 PM.
  • Aligned with the school calendar, with opportunities for extended school year programs during summer break.

This position is open for the 2026–2027 school year.
