About the role
District 49 is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Ridgeview Elementary starting July 28, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs according to their Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Collaborate with parents, other teachers, and related service providers to support student learning
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
- Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
- Assist in developing and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university
- Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in Special Education Generalist
- Completion of Colorado READ Act training requirements
Qualifications
- Experience in a classroom setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
Skills
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes
- Ability to manage diverse student populations

Pay
- Minimum starting pay: $50,500/year
- Maximum salary: $101,999/year
- Initial pay placement based on formal education and years of relevant experience
