Job Overview

The STEM Outclass teacher will implement an elementary STEM instructional program based on the district's written curriculum. The incumbent will provide a collaborative learning environment that utilizes technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a Collaborative Learning Environment
  • Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
  • Plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities
  • Implement an instructional program providing appropriate learning experiences
  • Manage student behavior in all parts of the school building and grounds
  • Ensure continuous communication with parents
  • Communicate regularly with students on instructional expectations
  • Maintain a classroom and/or instructional environment conducive to learning
  • Support and participate in school wide student activities and social events
  • Monitor student behavior in non-instructional areas and intervene to control and modify disruptive behavior
  • Collaborate with other professionals to carry out school-wide instructional or related activities

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in elementary education
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Teaching Certification issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment PK-6
  • Minimum of 3 years pre-service teaching experience
  • Familiar with educational technology tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FBISD program of studies related to assignments and public school mission, goals and organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent growth and development or, if applicable, adult learning theory
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in classrooms, offices, work stations and meeting rooms
  • Occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood, pre-teen or teen illnesses may occur
