Job Overview
The STEM Outclass teacher will implement an elementary STEM instructional program based on the district's written curriculum. The incumbent will provide a collaborative learning environment that utilizes technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a Collaborative Learning Environment
- Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
- Plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities
- Implement an instructional program providing appropriate learning experiences
- Manage student behavior in all parts of the school building and grounds
- Ensure continuous communication with parents
- Communicate regularly with students on instructional expectations
- Maintain a classroom and/or instructional environment conducive to learning
- Support and participate in school wide student activities and social events
- Monitor student behavior in non-instructional areas and intervene to control and modify disruptive behavior
- Collaborate with other professionals to carry out school-wide instructional or related activities
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid Teaching Certification issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment PK-6
- Minimum of 3 years pre-service teaching experience
- Familiar with educational technology tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of FBISD program of studies related to assignments and public school mission, goals and organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned
- Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent growth and development or, if applicable, adult learning theory
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Work is performed in classrooms, offices, work stations and meeting rooms
- Occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood, pre-teen or teen illnesses may occur
