Elementary School Teacher-Part-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Elementary Teacher to join our virtual teaching program. This role involves delivering specific course content in an online environment, providing instruction, support, and guidance to students, and managing the learning process with a focus on individual student needs. Teachers work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book, ensure student academic integrity, and make student placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment.
- Travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
Requirements
- State Certification in Florida, West Virginia, or Georgia.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday.
- Availability and flexibility to support school and student needs, with instructional hours falling between 9-5 EST (or 8-4).
- Ability to travel occasionally for school functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Ability to clear required background check.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to modern technologies and teaching platforms.
- Experience working with the proposed age group (desired).
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology (desired).
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment (desired).
Pay
This is a part-time position likely paying $20-$25/hour, up to 25 hours per week. The hourly wage is not guaranteed and may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
Schedule
Instructional hours fall between 9-5 EST (or 8-4) based on school needs. Assigned hours may range due to factors like school need, content area, and teacher availability.
Work Environment
This is a virtual position, allowing teachers to work from home. Occasional travel is required for school functions and professional development.
