Qualifications
- Master's Degree in School Social Work
- Valid State of Michigan Certification as a School Social Worker
Responsibilities
- Provide school social work support and services to general education students as part of the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Provide school social work support and services to students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans
- Participate in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team process with strong diagnostic skills
- Facilitate the IEP process and engage in the Section 504 Process
- Use knowledge of Positive Behavioral Supports and actively participate in functional behavioral analysis (FBA) and development of behavior intervention plans (BIP)
- Administer Threat and Risk Assessments
- Conduct home visits as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
Skills
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of psychiatric disorders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
- Effective collaboration with parents, educational staff, and community agencies to coordinate programs and services for students and families
- Trained in, or willing to be trained in, non-violent crisis intervention
Pay
Appropriate placement on the current Teacher's Master Agreement.
