About the Role
As a Part-Time Elementary School Tutor, you will guide young learners on the path to academic success. Your primary focus will be on providing one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in English Language Arts and Mathematics. With your teaching experience and expertise, you'll create a warm and supportive environment that encourages students to explore their abilities and achieve academic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for students in grades K-6, primarily focusing on English Language Arts and Mathematics
- Develop personalized lesson plans that align with students' individual needs, interests, and curriculum requirements
- Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement to tailor instruction accordingly
- Utilize a variety of engaging teaching strategies and resources to make learning fun and interactive
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students, fostering a growth mindset and self-confidence
- Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and A+ Tutoring staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience for students
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including attendance, lesson plans, and progress reports
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for teaching and a love for working with children
- Prior teaching experience in elementary education, preferably in English Language Arts and Mathematics
- A teaching credential or relevant educational degree is preferred
- Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional techniques
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and create a positive learning environment
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning styles
- Organizational skills to effectively plan and manage tutoring sessions
- Availability for 4-10 hours per week, primarily after school hours, with flexible hours during the summer

- Find learning resources that can be used in your lessons
