Elementary School Part Time Library Assistant

About the role

The Clark-Wilkins Elementary School is seeking a part-time employee to support their Library Media Specialist. The position involves 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Support the Library Media Specialist in maintaining a positive, structured environment in the library.
• Create and sustain a positive, structured environment in the library.
• Present with a positive attitude towards children and adults.
• Work well with children and adults.
• Able to multi-task; be patient, flexible, and organized.
• Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to find and utilize written and digital resources to support students and staff.

Requirements

• Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, people-oriented, and caring.
• Demonstrated commitment to, "Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners."
• Passion for the library and sparking joy for literacy with students.
• Knowledge of PC computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills, well-organized, efficient, reliable, independent, and well-developed collaborative skills with students and educators.

Qualifications

• Passionate about books and libraries.
• Experience with elementary school-age children.
