ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Position Goal

To provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate school counseling program to support the academic, life skills and wellness, and college/career needs of all students.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement student support plans.
• Assess student needs through various assessments and interventions.
• Develop and lead lessons on social-emotional learning and character education.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• An earned master's degree from an accredited institution in School Counseling, Counselor Education, or a related field.
• Valid Florida Department of Education Certification in School Counseling.
• Ability to work with diverse groups.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Computer skills as required for the position.
