Location: Dewey Elementary • 1 opening • Permanent, full-time position

Pay

$18.11 – $23.65 per hour / $3,139 – $4,099 per month (CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule)

Schedule

• 9-month instructional calendar (18A)
• 206 days per year, 5 days per week
• 6-hour work day: Monday – Friday, 8:20 AM – 2:50 PM

Responsibilities

Provide instructional and classroom support as an elementary paraeducator.

Requirements

All applicants must attach one of the following to pre-qualify:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one of the following:
• [A] Passing score on San Juan Unified School District’s Proficiency Exam (April 2005 or later; no other district’s exam accepted). Request a digital test via Google Form.
• [B] Official passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• Previous experience working with groups of children.
• In some programs: possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire.

Title I Sites Additional Requirements

Must pre-qualify by attaching one of the following:

• [A] Passing score on SJUSD’s Proficiency Exam (April 2005 or later). Schedule testing here.
• [B] Official passing score on the CBEST.
• [C] Official transcripts showing completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
• [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). Foreign degrees/transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
