About the role

Elementary Instructional Assistant – Calendar 18A (9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week)
Length of Work Day: 6 hours
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:40 AM – 3:25 PM

Responsibilities

• Support elementary students in instructional and behavioral settings
• Assist certificated staff with classroom management and lesson reinforcement
• Work collaboratively within a school team to meet student needs

Requirements

• Relevant experience working with groups of children
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Passing score on one of the following:
  • San Juan Unified School District IA Proficiency Test (testing date April 2005 to current)
  • California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency

Note: In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire may be required.
