Elementary Math and Reading RTI Teacher Full/Part Time

About the role

Primary responsibilities include intervention assistance to students performing below grade level in reading and math. The RTI teacher will work with small, targeted groups of students in developing and delivering research-based strategies in addition to consistent progress monitoring. The position requires collaboration with teams in the area of data analysis and regular communication with students, parents, teachers, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the teaching team in the delivery of standards-based curriculum to selected students
• Provide remedial/intervention instruction to students in small group and team-teaching situations, with a strong emphasis on the individual child
• Provide consistent and data-driven progress monitoring with frequent assessment and organized reporting, focusing on student growth
• Analyze student achievement data and use results for instructional interventions
• Create a teaching environment conducive to learning that encourages and develops student esteem
• Establish and maintain strong, trusting relationships with students, driven by student growth and achievement
• Participate in the Child Study process, including summarizing student progress and needs
• Collaborate with RTI and ELL teams as well as grade-level teams; communicate student progress with homeroom teachers frequently
• Employ technologies in the teaching/learning process
• Use effective communication skills (oral and written) to present information accurately and clearly, including the use of technology
• Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings (dependent upon position hours and role)
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues and be a strong, collaborative team player

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• MA Department of Education certification/licensure required
• Experience with RTI or reading license preferred
• Flexibility with hours; possible part-time or full-time position
