Elementary Math and Reading RTI Teacher

Job Description

The Response To Intervention (RTI) Teacher at LCCPS will assist and support the teaching team in delivering standards-based curriculum to selected students, focusing on reading and math for students below grade level. The role involves providing remedial/intervention instruction in small groups and team settings, conducting consistent progress monitoring, and collaborating with various teams for student progress updates.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist and support teaching team in the delivery of standards-based curriculum to selected students
• Successfully teach reading and/or math with a strong emphasis on the individual child
• Provide remedial/intervention instruction to students in small group and in team teaching situations
• Conduct consistent and data-driven progress monitoring with frequent assessment and organized reporting
• Create a teaching environment conducive to learning and encourage student esteem
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with students and focus on student growth and achievement
• Analyze student achievement data and use results for instructional interventions
• Communicate student progress with homeroom teachers on a frequent basis
• Collaborate with RTI and ELL teams as well as grade level teams
• Participate in the Child Study process, summarizing student progress and needs
• Use effective communication skills and technologies in the teaching/learning process
• Attend and participate in all faculty and staff meetings (dependent upon position hours and role)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Experience with RTI or reading license preferred
• MA Department of Education certification/licensure required

Experience/Qualifications

Experience with the following programs or curricular areas would be beneficial but not required: Fundations/Wilson Reading, Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI), DIBELS, Read Naturally, Guided Reading/Fountas and Pinnell.
