Position Summary
Milwaukee Electronics is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Electronics Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll perform functional testing and basic troubleshooting of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) while ensuring products meet customer and quality requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Perform functional testing on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and electronic subassemblies using automated and manual test equipment.
- Set up and operate commercial electronic test equipment.
- Follow detailed work instructions, test procedures, engineering documentation, and quality standards.
- Record test results accurately and report failures or abnormal conditions.
- Perform basic troubleshooting under supervision, including identifying damaged components, solder bridges, and visible workmanship issues.
- Absorb and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with technicians, engineers, quality personnel, and production teams to solve problems and improve processes.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED and 6–12 months of related experience or training, or the demonstrated ability to pass our technical aptitude assessment.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics or a related field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electronics and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
- Ability to follow written work instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to interpret production data and basic performance graphs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electronics manufacturing experience.
- Experience using electronic test equipment.
- Experience testing PCBAs.
- IPC-A-610 certification.
- Technical education in electronics or electrical technology.
Training And Certification Requirements
- IPC Component Identification.
- IPC Workmanship Standards.
Physical Requirements
- Sit or stand depending on the assigned workstation.
- Occasionally stand or walk.
- Frequent use of hands to handle components, operate equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- This position is performed onsite in a manufacturing environment.
- Employees may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and loud noise.
