About the role

This position is open to U.S. citizens who are eligible for a Top Secret/SCI clearance. It offers opportunities for trainees to gain experience in maintaining and troubleshooting various electronic systems, with potential for advancement to a permanent FBI Electronics Technician position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple, preventive, and corrective maintenance on various communication and intrusion systems.
  • Test and replace defective components and perform routine maintenance at scheduled intervals.
  • Assist higher-grade technicians during installations, maintenance, and removal of equipment.
  • Review technical manuals and remain updated with technological advancements.
  • Document maintenance activities in equipment maintenance logs.
  • Take periodic inventory of radio parts and reconcile findings against a spare parts quota.
  • Assist in training and development of skills necessary for advanced maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Six (6) credit hours in basic electronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Radio Experience: One or two years of specialized experience with Motorola Radio or any radio brand in RF, Infrastructure Maintenance, Subscriber Devices, and/or Tactical Communications.
  • Data Network Experience: One or two years of specialized experience with Cisco switch and router programming or any switch and router programming brand in network infrastructure, network maintenance, and/or telecommunications.
  • Physical Security Systems Experience: Two years of specialized experience in alarm installation, access control installation, security programming, and/or video security system installation.

Pay

GS-7: $43,106.00 - $56,039.00
