Electronics Technician (Temp to Hire)
About the role
This position will be responsible for supporting the plant for all electrical applications. This position completes preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment; restores, repairs or replaces faulty or inoperative equipment as required. This is a Temp to Hire position.
Responsibilities
- Assembling, evaluating, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment and apparatuses.
- Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment.
- Constructing and fabricating parts, using hand tools and specifications.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams and schematics.
- Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment.
- Perform and document all calibrations on electrical equipment.
- Tune drives on various equipment for optimal performance of equipment.
- Weekend rotation for facility on-call coverage is required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred.
- 2+ year of experience working as an electrical technician.
- Previous experience operating forklifts (electric and gas), scissor lifts and JLG aerial equipment.
Special Skills
- Technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, etc. for equipment improvements or additions.
- Ability to identify problems with systems and equipment and carry out their maintenance.
- Excellent problem solving/analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and effective team working skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office; spreadsheets and data bases.
