Electronics Technician Maintenance I
About the role
The Electronic Technician Maintenance supports the Submarine Fleet Technical Support Division in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This position is based in Pearl Harbor but may require flyaway support to locations throughout the Pacific Rim including San Diego, Bangor, Bremerton, and Guam.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of Navy equipment and related devices.
- Perform preventative maintenance and preservation activities, including sanding, needle gunning, rust removal, surface preparation, and painting.
- Understand and comply with guidance in manufacturer’s manuals, Navy instructions, technical drawings, and other related documentation.
- Support the movement of heavy equipment via truck, crane, and forklift in a high-tempo industrial environment.
- Participate in the movement of heavy equipment via truck, crane, and forklift in a high-tempo industrial environment.
- Support general shop and waterfront maintenance activities as required to maintain operational readiness and safety standards.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
Requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required.
- At least one (1) year of experience performing preventative maintenance and preservation activities in an industrial, maritime, or shipboard environment, including sanding, needle gunning, rust and corrosion removal, surface preparation, and painting.
- Must demonstrate the ability to execute problem-solving associated with maintaining, transporting, loading, and setting up complex machinery in a dynamic environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively, efficiently, and safely in an industrial environment.
- Must possess a basic mechanical aptitude.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Qualifications
- The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Skills
- Warehouse operations experience.
- Licensed forklift operator.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Experience conducting preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
