Electronics Technician.

About the role

Evaluate overall performance of the instrumentation system and advise of any data support limitations. Lead team members in performing troubleshooting of instrumentation systems and equipment to correct problems. Work directly with range agencies and range users in the execution of support plans to satisfy very complex mission requirements. Analyze requirements to determine areas where meteorological instrumentation and meteorology system support is required. Provide effective test support to include but not limited to planning, scheduling, data collection, mission control and analysis.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
• Position requires a physical every 2 years.
• Position requires use of protective clothing or equipment as authorized by the WSMR Safety Office.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Class A, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 6 months of starting this position to operate commercial vehicles required by this position.
• The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
• Position may be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.
• This position requires the incumbent to work in all types of weather.
• The incumbent must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds unaided.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

• Experience operating instrumentation systems such as radar, telemetry, optics, targets, Global Positioning System (GPS), timing, flight safety, meteorology system or general electronic test instrumentation for an organization;
• Experience analyzing operational methods to provide solutions for the improvement of data collection;
• Experience providing recommendations to modify or improve assigned electronic systems or procedures.
