About the role
The Electronics Technician position at Timber Products Michigan involves installing, setting up, testing, and adjusting manufacturing machinery or equipment, using various technologies such as electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer systems. This role also includes maintaining, installing, and changing software programs and PLC ladder logic throughout the mills.Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for automation to enhance production processes and provide recommendations for implementation.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs of defective equipment using drawings, schematics, diagrams, and other technical information.
- Investigate equipment problems to determine the root cause of system failures and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Requirements
- A 2-year associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years’ experience and/or training in electronics or computer technology.
- Proficiency in either GE or Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic.
- Ability to perform electrical work as assigned, with the intention of having an electrician present for training.
