Details of the Role

The position of Electronics Technician will be responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of developmental and production electronic components. During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to follow engineering instructions, operate hand and power tools, document test results, and support prototype development.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for component assembly and testing tasks.
  • Build, assemble, and test electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic components using standard test equipment.
  • Document and record data on testing techniques, performance results, and specifications.
  • Procure materials and parts, and maintain inventory and related documentation.
  • Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Work closely with engineering staff to support development and production needs.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as required by company representatives.

Qualifying Attributes And Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electronics assembly, testing, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience using standard test equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Must be able to work with small components requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible with changing priorities and tasks.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds without difficulty.
  • Must have the ability to adjust focus, have peripheral vision, and adequate short- and long-distance visibility.
  • Must be able to work with intricate tools, using fine motor skills of hands and arms.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of fingers and hands to manipulate or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positions.
  • Ability to listen and understand spoken instructions and communicate clearly with others.
