Details of the Role
The position of Electronics Technician will be responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of developmental and production electronic components. During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to follow engineering instructions, operate hand and power tools, document test results, and support prototype development.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for component assembly and testing tasks.
- Build, assemble, and test electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic components using standard test equipment.
- Document and record data on testing techniques, performance results, and specifications.
- Procure materials and parts, and maintain inventory and related documentation.
- Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Work closely with engineering staff to support development and production needs.
- May be asked to perform other duties as required by company representatives.
Qualifying Attributes And Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electronics assembly, testing, or related field.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Experience using standard test equipment and hand/power tools.
- Must be able to work with small components requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with a team-oriented attitude.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to be flexible with changing priorities and tasks.
- Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds without difficulty.
- Must have the ability to adjust focus, have peripheral vision, and adequate short- and long-distance visibility.
- Must be able to work with intricate tools, using fine motor skills of hands and arms.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear frequently throughout the workday.
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of fingers and hands to manipulate or assemble very small objects.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positions.
- Ability to listen and understand spoken instructions and communicate clearly with others.
