Primary Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate electronic assemblies and embedded systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
- Build and assemble prototype electronics including circuit boards, wire harnesses, and system-level assemblies
- Perform quality inspections and functional testing of electronic components and assemblies to ensure they meet specifications
- Support engineering development activities by assembling and testing prototype hardware
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to identify and resolve issues during testing and production
- Utilize standard electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and soldering equipment
- Document test results, assembly procedures, and technical findings
- Support both engineering prototype builds and production manufacturing efforts
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with safety and quality standards
- Assist with rework and repair of electronic assemblies as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in electronics testing, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Experience working with circuit boards and system-level electronic assemblies
- Prior experience in aerospace, defense industry, or military electronics (technical military occupational specialty)
- Working knowledge and understanding of IPC standards including J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620
- Proficiency with standard electronic test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and soldering equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations and able to access ITAR and CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information)
- Ability to work in both engineering development and production manufacturing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC J-STD-001 (Soldering) certification
- IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) certification
- IPC-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) certification
- Experience with UAV or embedded systems electronics
- Experience with avionics or flight control systems
- Familiarity with military specifications and standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle electronic assemblies and equipment
- Capable of performing detailed work requiring manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work at a bench or workstation for extended periods
Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position in Madison, Alabama
- Work will be performed in both engineering laboratory and production manufacturing environments
- Standard business hours with occasional flexibility required to meet project deadlines
- Travel is not anticipated as a regular requirement
