Your Day-to-Day as an Electronic Technician

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment. At times, this may involve working in tight or confined spaces while wearing respiratory protection.
  • Safely operate cranes, hoists, power tools, motorized equipment, and hand tools.
  • Document daily activities in the SAP PM module.
  • Follow specialized procedures while working in a radiological environment.
  • Identify, repair, and replace faulty equipment using strong observational, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and the Planning Department to locate parts and schedule necessary repairs.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Minimum Qualifications

    • Ace's degree in electronics, an Electrical Certificate, or a DPOR Trade Certification Card (Electrical Journeyman/Master).
    • At least 6 years of industrial experience, or 4 years of industrial experience plus Journeyman experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering instructions.
    • Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment up to 480 V, 3-phase.
    • Proven experience with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic instrumentation.
    • Demonstrated experience with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs.
    • Working knowledge of a CMMS such as SAP.
    • Self-starter, team-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain respirator qualifications.
    • Willingness to attend training classes and seminars.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

    Preferred Additional Qualification(s)

    • Knowledge of HVAC, Cryogenics, basic vacuum and leak detection.

      Pay

      $64,000 - $90,000

      The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
