Electronics Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Active role in deconstructing electronic components
  • Translate hands-on experience to find technological solutions to improve processes and procedures
  • Support development by designing fixtures, software, and/or non-traditional techniques
  • Make technical decisions based on skills and training in the use of test equipment and associated systems
  • Notify and discuss technical problems with engineering personnel, contractors, or other government representatives as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school in electronics or related field
  • 0-1 year of experience working with electronics components
  • Hands-on experience with handling and testing small parts, such as microelectronics
  • Knowledge of electronic components and device operating characteristics
  • Prior experience with Ionizing radiation safety and handling per DOD guidelines
  • Understanding and utilization of laboratory safety practices, including chemical safety
  • Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team and engage with technicians, scientists, and engineers
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities for process improvements through fixture design and integrating new techniques
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or Electronics Technology
  • 2-3 years of experience working with electronics components
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in laboratory environments, including operation of microscopes and other analytical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of microelectronic construction and materials

Compensation Details

$65,000-$95,000 annually
