About the Role
We are seeking an Electronics Technician 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of SES, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
- Executes various technical tasks within field operations, including on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
- Ensures functionality and reliability of technologies by conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, testing systems, and providing technical support.
- Utilizes and comprehends project safety plans, enforcing adherence to M.C. Dean policies and procedures.
- Analyzes and interprets M.C. Dean drawing packages to assess constructability and ensure accuracy.
- Tracks and inventories tools, conducts inspections, and performs daily tool inventory.
- Takes responsibility for cleanup related to scope of work and maintains tool functionality.
- Participates in daily safety and project meetings, ensuring team compliance with safety requirements.
- Installs system raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.
- Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
- Racks and stacks head-end equipment, performs cable terminations, and adheres to industry standards.
- Communicates consistently with project teams, demonstrating dedication, punctuality, and preparedness.
- Acts as a collaborative teammate, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Plans and prioritizes tasks effectively, embodying M.C. Dean's vision, mission, and values.
- Maintains M.C. Dean quality standards for installation and testing tasks.
- Mentors and trains junior team members in installation techniques, codes, standards, and best practices.
- Documents daily work tasks using Infralink and other tools to track progress.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required; no clearance needed.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance experience on multiple systems and customer programs.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, AIphone Intercom Systems).
- Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program.
- Additional 3 years of electronics installation and/or maintenance experience.
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
Abilities
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Physical strength and stamina for tasks like loading, unloading, and operating equipment.
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet and climb scaffolds, aerial lifts, and ladders.
- Good vision (correctable) and ability to see in color.
- Ability to hear and communicate in English.
- Problem recognition and application of general rules to specific problems.
Pay
USD $26.00 - USD $39.65 /Hr.
