What You Will Do
- Reads and interprets board layouts, schematics and BOMs
- Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronics to diagnose causes of the malfunction and repair
- Adjusts, modifies and repairs electronic systems, works from sketches, layouts, and diagrams
- Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
- Maintains electric and electronic test equipment
- Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
- Disassemble manual equipment and replace it with new or repaired parts
- Uses hand tools, power tools, and simple machine tools to repair manufacturing equipment
- Performs Preventative Maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Performs General Maintenance duties as needed
- Performs system calibrations and recordings
Qualifications You Must Have
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in a related field
Qualifications We Prefer
- In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or Completed 4-year Apprenticeship
- 4+ years’ experience Aerospace/Manufacturing
- 3+ years electronics/electrical trades experience, working on and servicing CNC machines
- Licensed electrician E1/E2
