About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Service Technician to join our growing service team in Livonia. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and restoring sophisticated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Service & Repair:
- Diagnostics: Diagnose faults across a diverse range of products, identifying electrical and mechanical issues down to component level.
- Electronics: Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Repairs: Disassemble, repair, test, and reassemble equipment to manufacturer standards.
- Services: Carry out repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance on: Pipeline inspection cameras, Robotic crawler systems, Control units, Cable reels and coiler rods, Robotic cutting equipment, UV curing systems.
- Soldering/Wiring: Perform soldering and wiring repairs, including small electronic components.
- Testing: Verify repairs through testing and quality checks before equipment is returned to customers.
- Customer Support:
- Communication: Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
- Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Service: Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the repair process.
- Administration & Inventory:
- Documentation: Book equipment into the service department and maintain accurate service records.
- Job Sheets: Complete job sheets within the ERP system, documenting labor, findings, and parts used.
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels and submit stock replenishment requests when required.
- Picking: Assist with goods-in/goods-out activities and spare parts picking as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: Experience in electronics repair, electro-mechanical repair, or technical service environments.
- Skills: Ability to read electronic schematics and technical drawings, strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, experience with soldering, wiring repairs, and electronic component replacement, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working within a service department, repair facility, or technical support environment.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and confidence using business systems and software.
- Communication: Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Training: Relevant training or certification in electronics repair or technical service.
