About the role

We are looking for a qualified Electronics Quality Technician II to perform inspections of electrical harnesses and other electronic components throughout the product development lifecycle—from prototype through low-volume production—in an ISO 9001 certified engineering and manufacturing environment.

A successful candidate will collaborate with internal manufacturing and engineering teams to provide inspections and data, and occasionally work with external suppliers to communicate quality issues. Responsibilities include inspecting harnessing and circuit boards to IPC 620 and 610 standards, and verifying corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspections as required
  • Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and other controlled documentation
  • Identify and document issues
  • Perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
  • Work and interface with engineering and production to resolve nonconforming material issues
  • Examine incoming parts and documentation to confirm correct specifications and established standards are met
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Use Windows-based computers and MS software (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word)
  • Perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent (associate degree is beneficial)
  • 3+ years of work experience in a defense or aerospace manufacturing environment in electronics quality/inspection or as a mid-to-senior harness assembler
  • Experience or understanding of high-voltage cabling and components
  • Wire harness experience in accordance with IPC-620 standard (desired)
  • Experience inspecting solder, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface-mounted devices per IPC-A-610 standard (desired)
  • Experience performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices
  • Experience using Cirris cable testing system (or similar)
  • Solid foundational knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

Schedule

  • 7:30 AM start time, Monday–Friday
  • 40-hour standard work week with overtime paid as worked when required
  • Flexibility to accommodate fixed deadlines, including occasional longer hours, Saturdays, and/or Sundays

Work Environment

  • Combination of electronics lab and manufacturing areas
  • Occasional travel between facilities may be required
  • Periodic stress due to deadlines

Physical Demands

  • Occasional moderate physical activity
  • Moving and maneuvering heavy objects may be required at times
