About the role
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an on-site Electronics Lab Technician II in our new Engineering Test Lab in Davidson, NC. This technician plays a pivotal role in validating new products and electrical components, including design and fabrication of controls simulators and test fixtures for Trane Technologies heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) or transport products and their components. By leveraging expertise in electrical components and controls, and collaborating across the engineering department, this technician helps bring new products to market.
This is a 1st shift, on-site position located at our Trane Technologies HQ campus in Davidson, NC.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Support product development activities by designing and fabricating commercial HVAC system simulators with modest guidance from Engineering
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics components
- Execute electronics testing procedures for VFDs and motors developed by engineering teams, using programmable AC supplies, load systems, and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes
- Support end-to-end concept and validation controls testing with instrumentation and data acquisition setup with guidance from Engineering and Senior Technicians
- Drive continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical (or related technical discipline) and at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR at least 10 years of relevant electronics experience is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with leadership principles are prioritized
Pay
Hourly base pay range: $40,000.00 - $86,200.00. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
