Electronics Controls Engineer

Core Job Responsibilities

• Work within a team structure to define engine and vehicle control architecture and associated telemetry.
• Auxiliary in the implementation of model based development for both hardware and software.
• Identify and validate selection of vehicle control module options, sensors, and power management systems.
• Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members.
• Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes.
• Develop and/or update electrical purchased part specifications and engineering drawings.
• Identify and assess key supplier capabilities using APQP processes and tools.
• Define, identify and complete appropriate qualification testing activities.
• Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects.
• Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
• Cookordination the activities of other engineers or technicians assigned to the project.
• Provide engineering support to product planning and/or technical support teams.

Skills

• Experience with electrical vehicle controls and safety features.
• Experience in controls of embedded systems.
• CAN/LIN Experience.
• Previous experience in vehicle telemetry, diagnostics, and data analytics (a plus).
• Experience in model based software development (a plus).
• Experience with APQP methods and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation.
• Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and design standards.
• Basic experience with 3D-CAD applications such as ProE (a plus).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field, Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years’ work experience in design of control systems or systems engineering, preferably automotive.
• Design of controls for embedded systems.
